PCH and Childhelp Backpack Drive

2012-agency-logo-26For our 2015-2016 philanthropy NCPG partnered with the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Child Protection Team and Childhelp in a backpack drive for children who are victims of neglect, along with physical and sexual abuse. Many children come through the PCH/Childhelp center with nothing but the clothes on their backs, often times being removed for abusive situations quickly and have nothing of their own. The goal of our Backpack Drive was to provide these children with something they could call their own and provide a “bright spot” in an otherwise awful life experience for these children. The backpacks that NCPG provided were filled with items such as; clothes, pajamas, underwear, socks, shoes, toiletries, books, toys and school supplies.

We are thrilled to announce that NCPG members donated 130 backpacks to Childhelp and PCH! It is amazing knowing we were able to positively affect the lives of at least 130 children!

Wigged Out

Wigged Out logoWigged Out Inc., was founded by four women, two of which are NCPG members; Chelsea Kunde and Lindsey Dies. In January of 2011, at just 26 years old Chelsea was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. At the time, she was three months away from getting married, and postponing her wedding was something Chelsea and her fiance refused to do. They were not going to let the devastating news of cancer control their lives. As the wedding planning moved forward, Chelsea was faced with planning for hair loss as well, and her best friends were looking for a way to help…what started as a kind gesture has evolved into something much greater. Wigged Out Inc., aids cancer patients with the overwhelming stress that comes with hair loss by finding the perfect wig and hair accessories, financially and emotionally.

Thanks to the money raised through NCPG, Wigged Out was able to help Annette (26-year old with Alopecia,) Patricia (55-year old with Colon Cancer,) and Ann (46-year old with Breast Cancer,) buy wigs!

Holiday Giving Campaign — The Jaydie Lynn King Foundation and Phoenix Children’s Hospital Adopt-a-Family

tj_logo_200This year, NCPG had a unique opportunity to meaningfully and directly help families in need with children in treatment at Phoenix Children’s Hospital for cancer or blood disorders through The Jaydie Lynn King Foundation. The Jaydie Lynn King Foundation works with Phoenix Children’s Hospital each year to help families that are in need of items for the holidays. Each of these families has a child receiving treatment at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at PCH, and is experiencing other difficulties in their lives. Many have lost jobs to be there to care for their sick child or have encountered staggering medical bills. Without the help of donors, these families are not able to celebrate the holidays.

NCPG classes were paired with families in need to provide gifts, grocery gift cards for a holiday meal, household necessities (blankets, sheets, towels, cleaning supplies), and other items.

Through the donation of NCPG members as well as the extreme generosity of matching funds from The Keating Group, Inc., Apstar Consulting, Inc., and ccrd partners, NCPG was able to provide gifts, food cards, clothing and other necessities to families totaling more than $12,000!
