2016-2017 Spotlight Charity – Maggie’s Place
Maggie’s Place provides houses of hospitality and ongoing support to help pregnant and parenting women in need reach their goals, and welcomes them into a community filled with love and dignity.
Maggie’s Place provides for the immediate physical and emotional needs of our guests including shelter, food, clothing, and a supportive community. In addition, Maggie’s Place connects them to the appropriate agencies and resources including prenatal care, health insurance, low-cost housing, and education programs.
Location: Maggie’s Place has four homes located in Arizona – Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale and Mesa – as well as a coordinating office and Moms’ Outreach Center in Phoenix. Additionally, Maggie’s Place also operates a social enterprise, Maggie’s Thrift, also located in Phoenix.

Ways to get involved:
Maggie’s Place relies on you to keep our homes functioning and to enrich the lives of our moms and their babies. Whether it be through public acts of service or quiet acts of love, you are vital in carrying out the mission of hospitality!
There are unique opportunities available at our homes including
• House Coverage: How would you like to have time to get to know our moms firsthand? The best way to do this is through house coverage, which allows you to immerse yourself in our community!
• Babysitting: Do you love babies just as much as we do? Consider volunteering your time as a babysitter!
• Serve Saturday: If you like cleaning, this is the volunteer opportunity for you! Once a month the moms, MissionCorps, and volunteers all work together to clean our home. You can volunteer as an individual or as a group!
• Meal Preparation: Moms and MissionCorps would love for you to show off your skills in the kitchen! You can drop a meal off at your convenience for the home nearest to you or prepare at the home with community food.

In the Maggie’s Place homes, a unique approach is incorporated. Our staff lives in community with the moms that we serve. MissionCorps members, the live in staff position, commit to a year of service to share a home and live life alongside these women at a very vulnerable time in their lives. Pregnancy, by design, is meant to be experienced in the context of family and in our own way, Maggie’s Place homes offer a dynamic and vibrant family life.

Maggie’s Place accepts all new and gently used items. Items can be dropped off at any of our locations. Our Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale and Mesa homes can accept donations any day of the week from 9AM – 7PM. The Fiat House – Moms’ Outreach Center and Coordinating Office can accept donations Monday through Thursday 9AM – 5PM.
